I drew some African versions of Thor and Loki.  All I can think is that Loki must be BFFs with Anansi the Spider.

bb your face… <3

#but also how come the hammer is not crushing your ribcage??
I think this every time I see it. So heavy nobody can lift it, but not heavy enough to break ribs? Which, let’s face it, aren’t the most robust of bones.

That’s what bothered me during the movie, too.But then I gave it some thought, and came up with this:
Why it’s not crushing him: The Aesir (and the Jötunn) are portrayed as being more robust than normal people, so Loki (hopefully) isn’t in any danger here. Also, he’s wearing armour, which might help things. Even if thing was forged in a dying star and is probably denser than Sgt. Detritus on a hot summer day.
Why it stays put: Only someone who is worthy can wield Mjöllnir. And I’m pretty sure that at this point, the hammer very clearly didn’t think Loki worthy ;)Conclusion: Magic renders physics invalid; also: Magical artefact having a mind of its own.I sill don’t get why, on earth, they didn’t just chip it from its little stone pillar.
